Holy crap this is gorgeous. I love everything about it! Metroid Prime looks so menacing, yet at the same time Samus looks like no joke either! It all flows nicely and looks like it could have been concept art for the game before release! My only criticism is that the Metroids are red, and the only red Metroids in the series are the Talon Metroids forced to adapt to Aetherian atmosphere and climates in Metroid Prime 2.
Anyone else think that this might actually be Mother Brain? I know she was turned to dust during Super Metroid, but Ridley's been killed tons of times and the Space Pirates always bring him back. Maybe they tried to clone Mother Brain from the dust, but while it brought back Mother Brain in mind, the new body degraded too quickly, and painfully, because of the damage the hyper-beam did to her DNA. So MB orders a new metroid body to be constructed for her and jumps into Project Prime the moment she hears Samus is in the system in fear.
Sorry if that's too out there, but Metroid Prime always looked like Mother Brain to me in its final form.
definitly get it on the wii. metroid prime trillogy is just worth getting the wii controls for metroid prime. metroid prime is one of the coolest games ive ever played. i got stuck too many times using the game cube controller. i love the wiimote and nunchuck... in a sence, once you go asian, ummm INSERT PUN HERE! XD
Holy fuck! (pardon my french) this has to be one of the best images involving Metroid Prime I have ever seen. The only thing that throws me off is the Arm cannon, but I digress. This is a totally epic image with the BEST RENDER of the Core Essence of Metroid Prime I have ever seen. Overall, I love it.
And I wasted all that time getting the flamethrower charge combo, only to realize that the plasma beam was a one-shot kill on pretty much everything, had longer range, and DIDN'T use up all of my missiles.
I love the lighting and detail in this. The sheen on the Phazon Suit makes it look even more awesome than it does in-game, and the attention to detail and the way each light has it's own glow is pretty awesome. Shame you didn't do the same for the arm cannon, it looks a bit off, but it's still more than excusable. The transparency effects on Prime and it's brood and the details on the neurons and such are also exceedingly cool.
Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm still learning a lot about digital painting so hopefully my stuff will keep improving. Painting realistic things isn't my strong suit, I'm trying to find a happy medium of painting things in a more cartoon type way, and this Metroid pic was one of my first attempts. But I'm glad you like it, thanks for the comment.
